Kagad Kach Patra Kashtakari Panchayat (KKPKP)
KKPKP is the wastepicker union in Pune, India. They have worked for more than 20 years to empower the waste picker community by demanding their rights of employment, safety, and security. We work closely with KKPKP for identifying beneficiaries, doing small research projects, photo documentation or implementing any activities.
Dining for Women (DFW)
The generous grant received from DFW provides aid to 100 girls and 50 mothers surviving as wastepickers in Pune, India. Grant funds are being directed towards providing skills training and microloans to the mothers to start small businesses. Funds are also being used to enroll the daughters in primary school and providing them with extra tutoring. The members of DFW are to be commended for freeing these families from wastepicking.
Friends of Sierra Leone
Friends of Sierra Leone is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 by a small group of returned Peace Corps Volunteers, soon joined by their Sierra Leonean friends and other volunteers who had served in Sierra Leone.
Council of Organizations (COO)
The COO is a coalition of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and local groups of organizations with interests in Education, Social Justice, Labor, Energy and Climate, the Sustainable Development Goals, Human Rights, Health and Women’s Issues that all share the common goals of making the American public more knowledgeable about global issues and strengthening the U.S. – UN relationship.
Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health, Zambia
The Unforgotten Zambia Chapter works closely with the Ministry of Community Development for all projects in the area.
Planète Urgence
Planète Urgence, a French film making team, volunteered their time to help us make a documentary of our work. They also trained our young staff on how to make short films.
Kabanana Care (Zambia) Trust, United Kingdom
The Unforgotten, in partnership with UK-based Kabanana Care (Zambia) Trust, developed a water supply for an orphanage in Kabanana, Zambia.
Sanitation and Water for All
The Unforgotten is a member of Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) — a global partnership of governments, donors, civil society organizations and other development partners working together to coordinate high-level action, improve accountablity and use scarce resources towards achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 6 – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
